Loved
and Hated...Celebrated in the late 1800s by a host of famous artists, like Van Gogh, Picasso and Gaugin. Hated by others, blaming its drug-like ingredients for crime and madness.
Banned...The temperance movement eventually had their way, and by 1915 the green fairy was banned in most parts of the world, except for Spain and the UK.
Revived!During the 1990s absinthe slowly starts to appear on the scene again. New EU laws end the ban in most parts of Europe and in the UK absinthe soon becomes the must-have drink.
